Makepeace Island is a private hideaway a few minutes upstream from cosmopolitan Noosa Heads and is owned by Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Australia co founder Brett Godfrey. Sensitively developed in keeping with the coastal wilderness, the secluded island has been created to luxuriously accommodate and entertain up to 22 castaways exclusively but with all the attractions that the Sunshine Coast has to offer just a mere boat ride away.

The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era.
