Shaniwarwada is a historical fortification in the city of Pune in Maharashtra, India. Built in 1732, it was the seat of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire until 1818, when the Peshwas lost control to the British East India Company after the Third Anglo-Maratha War. inhagad (also known as Sinhgad) is a hill fortress located at around 25 km southwest to the city of Pune, India. Some of the information available at this fort suggests that the fort could have been built 2000 years ago. The caves and the carvings in the Kaundinyeshwar temple stand as proofs for the same. Previously known as Kondhana, the fort had been the site of many battles, most notably the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670. Perched on an isolated cliff of the Bhuleswar range in the Sahyadri Mountains, the fort is situated on a hill about 760 metres above ground and 1,312 metres above mean sea level.

Pune Race Course is a racecourse located in Pune Cantonment, western India. Built in 1830, it covers 118.5 acres (48.0 ha). The land is controlled by the Indian Army. Additional stabling for the horses is near Empress Garden, 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) from the course. The racing season runs from July to October and includes the Pune Derby, the RWITC Invitational, the Independence Cup and the Southern Command Cup. It is managed by Royal Western India Turf Club. Pune Race Course has a 2.8Kilometers long jogging track which is open to public on all days (except race days) from 5am to 8.30am and 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
