Has your hotel taken steps to reduce single-use plastics, such as removing plastic straws (except upon request for guests with disabilities), stirrers and cotton buds? If yes, please provide detail as to the steps you have taken to reduce single use plastics?
yes, straws are not available at our eating areas, and guests will be explained the reason for not offering them. This is due to the following reasons: 1. Our beachfront is a turtle nesting beach. Straws are utensils that turtles can mistake for food. Due to their shape and size, they can easily enter the nostrils of turtles, causing death if not removed. 2. They are utensils that are only used once, and because they are made of plastic, they are very harmful to the environment and turtles.
