The Venta Rapid is the widest waterfall in Europe, which in spring and autumn offers a view on flying fish. The width of the waterfall is around 100—110 metres, while its height is 1.8—2 metres. The waterfall can be viewed along its entire length from both the sides of the river, as well as from the old brick bridge across the Venta, which is located 200 m downstream from the waterfall.

House of the Blackheads was built in 1334 as a venue for meetings and banquets held by Riga’s various public organizations. The building was destroyed by bombs in the Second World War but was fully rebuilt in 1999.

Rundāle palace is the most significant Baroque castle in Latvia. Located in Rundāle county, Pilsētrundāle. The castle designed by the Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli was built from 1736 to 1768. The summer residence of the Duke of Courland and Zemgale also includes farm buildings and a park. Since 1972, the castle has a castle museum. Every year the museum delights its visitors with the Rose Festival and classical music concerts.

Jūrmala is a Latvian resort city on the Gulf of Riga, just west of the capital, Riga. It’s known for wooden, art nouveau seaside villas, Soviet-era sanatoriums and long, sandy Jūrmala Beach. Near the beach are the Dzintari Concert Hall complex, dating from the 1930s, and Dzintari Forest Park. On the banks of winding Lielupe River, the Jūrmala City Museum tells the history of the city through thousands of objects.

In the course of a season that runs from September to June the LNOB performs more than 200 performances, staging on average six new productions every season of both opera and ballet. The LNOB today is a repertoire theatre. While paying tribute to the traditional values of the classical and Romantic operas and ballets that are the cornerstones of its repertoire, the LNOB continually strives to seek contemporary forms of expression. The LNO stage regularly resounds with successful productions of modern operatic and ballet masterpieces, children's performances, and original Latvian works.
