Ideally located to enjoy the best of Rio de Janeiro and right in front of glamorous Copacabana Beach, Miramar Hotel by Windsor has passed a full retrofit process that changed it completely. Decor inspired in the British style, Miramar Hotel by Windsor acquired new colors, exquisite furniture and fixtures in a daring project by architect and interior designer Paola Ribeiro. Miramar Hotel by Windsor reopens with a new status of a Design Hotel, offering its guests a complete experience that goes far beyond a standard stay. Magnificent in every way, the hotel offers a complete array of personalized services at guest’s disposal. The hotel features 200 rooms and suites designed specially to its guests. The rooms and suites, in relaxing tones of beige and gray combined with details of Brazilian paintings, offer an ambiance of sophisticated pleasure.

The Copacabana Fort is also the home of the Army Historical Museum. The Fort was inaugurated in 1914, at the promontory of the little church Nossa Senhora de Copacabana, with the objective of strengthening the defense of the Guanabara Bay. Occupying a total area of 114,169 m², Copacabana Fort was, at that time, considered the most modern Fortification in South America.
In 1987, the Coast Artillery Batteries were abolished, and the Army History Museum was created, establishing itself as a center for memory preservation of the Brazilian Army and a unique place of leisure in the touristic/cultural arena within Rio de Janeiro City.
