Sheraton Athlone Hotel since it’s opening in 2008 is fast becoming one of Ireland’s premier conference destinations. Built and designed with the conference market in mind, the hotel lends itself to various types of meetings and events to suit the organisers’ requirements. Each event organised at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel will benefit from the experienced conference co-ordination team who will endeavour to facilitate your every need, in the lead up to and throughout the event itself. Delegates can look forward to the outstanding and personal service which the Sheraton guarantees. With a central location and a choice of 11 spacious and flexible conference suites, connecting with colleagues and associates has never been easier than at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel. The spacious facilities welcome up to 1,200 delegates and include sophisticated conferencing equipment, high speed internet access, complimentary WiFi connectivity throughout the hotel, and a highly professional and efficient conference and banqueting team who will ensure that all conferences held at Sheraton are a success. All our meeting spaces are found away from the hotel's main thoroughfare providing quiet space for delegates.Our largest banqueting suite, Hoey Suite, accommodates 630 delegates and is complemented by breakout rooms on Meet on Level 2. Meet on Level 2 boast outdoor rooftop terrace, ideal for refreshment breaks, outdoor activities and BBQ's.

This nature trail walk starts at the rear of Athlone Castle and is approx 5kms long. It is a looped bi-directional walk which takes you along the banks of the River Shannon and the old Athlone Canal. There are four Information boards along the trail detailing flora, fauna,wildlife and fish that are along the walk.

Athlone Castle re-opened its doors to the public in 2012 following a multi-million euro renovation to transform the castle into a state-of-the-art, multi-sensory visitor experience. This Norman Castle dating from the 13th century the castle dominates the town and was central to the siege of Athlone in 1691. The eight newly designed exhibition spaces pursue both a chronological and thematic sequence combining hands-on and fun experiences that will appeal to both children and adults.
