HOTEL LUC, AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION Hotel Luc, opened under the Autograph Collection, is in an absolute prime location: right in the heart of Berlin and with a fantastic view of the Gendarmenmarkt and the French Cathedral, the hotel invites its guests to relax and discover the city. Whether a stroll through Friedrichstadt or a visit to the government district with the Brandenburg Gate - many landmarks of the city lie within walking distance. Hotel Luc offers Prussian straightforwardness, clarity, order and presence - the counter model to chaotic Berlin. ROOMS AND SUITES The boutique hotel offers 75 hotel rooms and 17 suites, elegantly furnished in deep Prussian blue. Most of the rooms overlook the French Cathedral and Berlin's most beautiful square: the Gendarmenmarkt. Special highlights include the two-story Luc King Suite and Luc Balcony rooms with private balconies to enjoy breakfast, dinner, or a leisurely cup of tea overlooking the hustle and bustle at Gendarmenmarkt. MEETINGS AND EVENTS The newly designed Atrium, opened in early 2023, is an exclusive venue with space for up to 40 people. Located in a prime location in Berlin, the Atrium is ideal for private parties, meetings or corporate events. Creative catering options with healthy food and beverage offerings for coffee breaks, luncheons or dinners will enhance the success of any event and can be customized according to the individual requirements. With a direct connection to the Delphinium function room, Hotel Luc offers an innovative event setting. Located in the neighboring building, the Deliphium is a special eye-catcher, especially with the illuminated floor. Our team will be happy to assist you with your booking of the Delphinium through the external owner.

Gendarmenmarkt The most beautiful square in Berlin? The most beautiful north of the Alps? Take a look for yourself at Gendarmenmarkt.The history of Gendarmenmarkt The Friedrichstadt quarter was built by Friedrich I at the end of the 17th century according to plans by Johann Arnold Nering. Its main residents were Huguenot refugees from France, which is why the French Protestant community was given one church on the square, and the Lutheran congregation the other. The square got its name from the “Gens d’armes” cuirassier regiment, whose stables there were demolished by Friedrich II. Between the two churches, a new theatre, now known as the Konzerthaus Berlin, was built. Right in the middle of the square, in front of the Konzerthaus, is a statue of the poet Friedrich Schiller. It was not until twelve years after the foundation stone was laid that the monument was unveiled. After the Second World War, the square lay in ruins. In the 1970s, the East Berlin government had it rebuilt in its current form. Having been renamed Platz der Akademie in 1950, Gendarmenmarkt got its old name back in 1991 after reunification.

The history of Checkpoint Charlie Checkpoint Charlie was the setting for many thrillers and spy novels, from James Bond in Octopussy to The Spy Who Came In From The Cold. Located on the corner of Friedrichstraße and Zimmerstraße, it is a reminder of the former border crossing, the Cold War and the partition of Berlin. The barrier and checkpoint booth, the flag and the sandbags are all based on the original site – and are a popular subject for photos. It’s no wonder that Checkpoint Charlie is one of the sights of Berlin that you really should see.
