Convenience begins with a ten-minute trip from the airport to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. With 350,000 square feet of convention and exhibition space, an 18,000-seat arena and 4,000 seats in two theaters, the complex campus also includes hotels and a dining district. Vulcan Park and Museum

Vulcan Park is home to the world's largest cast iron statue and features spectacular panoramic views of Birmingham. Located atop Red Mountain, Vulcan Park tells the story of Birmingham's past, present and promise for the future. Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and forge, was originally built in 1904 as Birmingham's entry in the World's Fair contest. Vulcan won first place. The Birmingham Museum of Art is the largest municipal museum in the Southeast and one of the finest regional museums in the country. Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum

Pennington, the buildings that have become the core of Iron City Birmingham have had a long history in the auto industry and left a lasting impression on the Southside landscape. Our historic location was considered one of the most modern car facilities of its time. It is fitting that Iron City’s reconstruction was driven by another entrepreneur in the car business, Steve DeMedicis.
In the design by Williams Blackstock Architects, two connected buildings underwent extensive renovation and construction in a two-floor layout that includes three concert stages, state of the art sound system, two bars and a restaurant. About the City Time and again, first time visitors to Birmingham are taken by the beauty of the area. With the foothills of the Appalachians as a backdrop, the city is laid out on lush rolling hills. The city has become something of a colony with recent openings of new art galleries of every sort. Galleries near the downtown area give art collectors wide options on paintings, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, fine art and folk art. Wine enthusiasts will want to take home souvenirs from the Alabama Wine Trail, especially delicate peach wines. Vulcan Park and Museum has the world’s largest cast iron statue and a spectacular view of the city. The Birmingham Museum of Art has one of the finest collections in the Southeast. Barber Motorsports Park has been hailed around the world as one of the best race courses in existence. The adjacent Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum houses the world’s largest collection of vintage motorcycles. The story of Birmingham’s role in the long march to civil rights is told at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, the focal point of the city’s Civil Rights District.
