See how three generations of pottery artists are inspired by the natural beauty of the region. The Wizard of Clay creates and sells hand-thrown pieces, from bowls, mugs and casserole dishes to vases, clocks and planters. Many are pressed with green leaves from area trees and plants while the clay is soft. The result is a beautiful Bristoleaf impression.
Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park

Sonnenberg is one of America’s longest surviving estates from the Victorian era. The elegant Queen Anne-style mansion was built in 1887 and features nine formal gardens, including a pansy garden, rock garden and rose garden. The Finger Lakes Wine Center at Sonnenberg features some of the best wines from the region.
This handsomely restored, century-old theater provides a full spectrum of live performing arts, from indie rock concerts, orchestral performances, modern dance and opera to children’s theater, community theater and comedy. The Smith also shows a diverse array of art house films, documentaries and family classics via state-of-the-art digital projection.
If you like your adventures on the wet side, this is it, starting with state-of-the-art waterslides nestled on 56 scenic, resort-like acres. Roseland also offers a giant 27,000-square-foot wave pool, an adventure river, splash factory, mammoth raft ride, body slides and speed slides. Roseland is ideal for youth groups, family reunions and birthday parties.
Roseland Bowl is the destination for all-ages entertainment in the Finger Lakes. In addition to 34 traditional bowling lanes, Roseland features eight VIP bowling lanes in a private setting, Atomic Bowling, 30 arcade games, bumper cars and laser tag! This farm store sells the freshest and ripest fruits from Red Jacket’s 500 acres of orchards around Seneca Lake, from strawberries, apricots and plums to peaches and apples. The family-owned operation is also famous for its fresh 100 percent fruit juices. Be sure to look for other locally grown and produced foods, including many Mennonite goodies.
Considered to be one of the top public golf courses in the area, Ravenwood has hosted many USGA and PGA qualifiers. The championship golf course has bent grass tees, greens and fairways. With five sets of tees, it can be a fair and challenging course for golfers of all skill levels.

Have you ever petted an alpaca? Now is your chance! Take the kids to Lazy Acre where you can tour and meet more than 90 alpacas and alpaca babies on a 180-acre farm with beautiful landscapes and gardens. While there, make sure to visit the Alpaca Country Gift Shop, stocked full of high-quality alpaca fleece clothing and souvenirs.
If it’s in season, it’s at Joseph’s, an open-air roadside farm market that offers local fruits and vegetables, fresh baked good, (including Naples’ famous grape pies) jams, honey, maple syrups and other delicacies. Joseph’s also has a gift shop with arts, crafts, outdoor wooden furniture and various potted plants and flowers.
Built at the foot of the Hill Cumorah, the Visitors Center is an invaluable resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Displays with interactive audio and video tell the story about the events that took place in the region.
With several waterfalls, cool water flowing over rocks and beautiful greenery, Grimes Glen offers one of Ontario County’s most scenic hiking experiences. Take the leisurely trail or challenge yourself with a climb up the side of a waterfall. You may even want to take off your boots and wade in the cool stream.
Built for Gideon Granger, Postmaster General for Presidents Jefferson and Madison, Granger Homestead is an 1816 mansion featuring the Carriage Museum with a vast collection of early carriages. There are guided tours of the Homestead and special events throughout the year, including the Christkindl Market.
Ganondagan is the site of a once-thriving center of Seneca Native Americans. Today is the only official Native American Historic site in New York. The Seneca Art and Culture Center tells the history of the Seneca and Haudenosaunee through exhibits and artifacts spanning centuries. Replica Bark Longhouse and ethnobotanical trails are yours to explore.
Located on the northern shore of Seneca Lake, the Finger Lakes Welcome Center is a great resource for any visitor to the Ontario County region of the Finger Lakes! You’ll find interactive kiosks and regional travel guides to help you on your exploration of the area. How about grabbing a bite to eat in the Taste of New York Café Market, where you can also purchase glasses of wine or pints of beer to enjoy on the patio overlooking Seneca Lake? Big-city gaming and thoroughbred horse racing have a home in the Finger Lakes at this state-of-the-art 30,000-square-foot facility. In addition to over 1,100 video machines and live races at the track, there is live local music, an 18-foot high definition projection screen for live sports and pay-per-view events, and bars and restaurants.
This super-regional shopping center boasts more than 170 stores. Many cater to the truly evolved fashionista, such as Anthropolgie, White House Black Market, Free People, Michael Kors, J. Crew and Madewell. Other popular venues include Apple, Box Lunch, LEGO, Pottery Barn and LL Bean. After shopping, relax with a meal at one of several full-service restaurants or catch a movie.
Constellations Brands – Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center

Better known as CMAC, this summertime performing arts center holds 5,000 covered seats and has a capacity for 10,000 more for lawn seating. Big name acts like Dave Matthews, Lionel Richie, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, The Avett Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Hootie & The Blowfish all garnered big crowds here.
The Canandaigua Lake Wine Trail showcases a diverse group of wineries, both large and small, as well as breweries, restaurants, wine tasting centers, and unique shops. 22 miles from Bloomfield to Naples, the trail has been operating since the mid-1990s, and is one of the more scenic Finger Lakes wine trails.
Grab your kayak, canoe or paddleboard and hit the Canandaigua Lake Water Trail, a series of public access sites designed for non-motorized boating on Canandaigua Lake. From newbie to the experiences, paddlers can plan a trip suitable to their ability. The trail features launching sites along with destination sites for paddlers to stop, rest and explore!
You will love touring Canandaigua Lake aboard a 19th century replica of a double-decked paddlewheel boat. The “Lady” is a proud successor to locally famous steamboats that operated on the Finger Lakes between 1820 and 1930. Choose a cruise that features lunch, dinner, narrated history or another special theme.
The untouched shores and forever wild forest surrounding Canadice Lake create a serene space to slow things down and look for bald eagles. And what could be more relaxing than enjoying the sounds of the waves tapping against the side of your kayak as you push off the shore and quietly slice through the calm, pristine waters of Canadice Lake?
The scenery is not the only dramatic aspect of life in the Finger Lakes. For more than 50 years, Bristol Valley Theater has presented live, professional theater to downtown Naples. Featuring performers from New York City and around the country, BVT offers a full summer season of plays and musicals, spring and fall series of centers, theater and family events.Look for the purple door!
Bristol Mountain Aerial Adventure Park consists of seven courses with different levels of difficulty. Each course is made up of 12 to 15 elements with each element being suspended between platforms that are secured to the trees. The adventures include zip lines, tightrope walks, rope ladders, bridges and more. Children’s courses and a 5,000-foot zipline canopy tour. Fun for the whole family.
Bristol Mountain lays claim to the highest vertical rise (1,200 feet) between the Adirondacks and the Rocky Mountains. It also boasts some breathtaking views for skiers and snowboarders of all levels, both day and night. State-of-the-art snowmaking ensures great conditions throughout the season. Take lessons, enjoy a waffle on the slopes, or relax with a hot meal.
