Museums such as Fort Caspar and the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, along with historic sites like Independence Rock and Martins Cove give visitors a look at what their experiences migrating West truly looked like.
But long before migrants arrived on our historic trails, the dinosaurs roamed this area and claimed it as their home before anyone else. Through years of digging and discovery, some of the worlds most complete displays of fossils were found right here, in and around Natrona County. The Tate Geological Museum is free and gives visitors hands on experiences with fossils, rocks, and gems.
But any visitor to Natrona County interested in our history shouldn't leave before taking a trek on the ruts of the Oregon Trail with Morris Carter and Historic Trails West in an authentic pioneer-covered wagon. Hear stories from what life was like on the trail as you eat dinner cooked in a Dutch oven along the banks of the North Platte River.

You can rent your equipment from the Alcova Resort, and if you decide to go on paddle boards or kayaks, they'll take you into the canyon on boat, allowing you to paddle back out through the towering red rock canyon walls. Over the past fifteen (15) years, we’ve grown from one (1) Thriller vessel to the current operation of three (3) Thriller Vessels, and one (1) Thriller Miami Hurricane that were built for Miami’s character, charm, and local culture.
Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
First tour departs at 11:00 am during the week, and 10:00 am during the weekend and holidays. Last tour depends on the sunset, which varies by season.

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”.
A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era.
Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!
