The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, which opened on Dec. 1, 2012, offers dynamic experiences to stimulate curiosity in visitors of all ages. With 180,000 square feet of space, standing 170 feet tall (equivalent to an average 14-story building) the revolutionary Perot Museum extends beyond the typical "museum" perception. The extraordinary building and outdoor space serves as a living science lesson, offering provocative illustrations of engineering, technology and conservation.
Five floors house 11 permanent exhibit halls containing state-of-the-art video and 3-D computer animation with thrilling, life-like simulations where visitors can exercise their brains through hands-on activities, interactive kiosks and educational games. The lower level of the cube houses a state-of-the-art, modular traveling exhibit hall; an education wing with six learning labs; a flexible space auditorium; and a children's museum including outdoor play space and a courtyard.
The plinth level houses the Main Lobby complete with a 35-foot Malawisaurus fossil; access to a roof deck; the Cafe; a 300-seat, multimedia Theater; and the Store. Inside and out, the Museum features natural sustainability and environmental friendliness including a rainwater collection system, LED lighting and solar-powered water heating.
The museum is located in Victory Park at the corner of Field Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway in the heart of Dallas.

Pioneer Plaza

In 1995, the Texas Trees Foundation dedicated Pioneer Plaza to the City of Dallas providing a focal point with historical significance for downtown Dallas. The Plaza commemorates Dallas' beginnings by celebrating the trails that brought settlers to Dallas. The site features native plants and trees and a flowing stream in a natural setting and a re-creation of a cattle drive in bronze with longhorn steers being driven by three cowboys on horses. Each piece of bronze art was created by artist Robert Summers of Glen Rose, Texas. It is located adjacent to the Dallas Convention Center at Young and Griffin between the historical Pioneer Cemetery and the Dallas Convention Center. Pioneer Plaza represents the largest public open space in the central business district.
Other features of Pioneer Plaza include a waterfall, man-made cliffs, native plant life and the small historic details on the sculptures.

Nasher Sculpture Center

Open since October 2003, the Nasher Sculpture Center is home to one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary sculptures in the world. The Center, which was designed by Prizker Prize-winning architect Renzo Piano, is located on a 2-acre in the heart of the Dallas Arts District. The museum was a long-held dream of the late Raymond and Patsy Nasher, who together formed a comprehensive collection of masterpieces by Calder, de Kooning, di Suvero, Giacometti, Hepworth, Kelly, Matisse, Miro, Moore, Picasso, Rodin, and Serra, among others, which continues to grow and evolve. On display in the Galleries and Garden are rotating exhibitions of works from the Nasher Collection as well as special exhibitions drawn from other museums and private collections.

The adventure at The Dallas World Aquarium begins at the top of the rainforest exhibit, where exotic birds, such as Cocks-of-the-rock and many species of toucans, can be seen. Lounging around are Two-toed and Three-toed sloths. Endangered animals, such as Orinoco crocodiles, Giant river otters, Antillean manatees and several species of monkeys are part of the many conservation projects. The aquarium portion displays interesting marine life, including Japanese crabs, jellyfish, Leafy, Weedy and Ribbon seadragons. Black-footed and Blue penguins can be seen swimming as guests enjoy the outdoor South Africa exhibit. Sharks, rays and sawfish are only a few of the fish living in the Mundo Maya cenote. Safe from Neotropical eagles, are euphonias, tanagers and hummingbirds. Reptiles and amphibians, both of significance to the Maya culture, can be seen throughout the exhibit

Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is located in the former Texas School Book Depository where significant evidence of a sniper was found following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The Museum presents the social and political landscape of the early 1960s, chronicles President Kennedy's assassination and its aftermath, and reflects upon his lasting impact on our country and world.
Open 7 days a week 10 AM-6 PM Tuesday-Sunday and Noon-6 PM Monday; closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission includes audio guide, available in seven languages plus ASL and a youth version (English): $18 for adults; $16 for seniors (65+); $14 for youth (6-18); children five and under are free or $5 with audio guide.
The Museum Store + Cafe, located at 501 Elm Street, is open to the public daily, 9:30 AM-6 PM.
