It is also furnished with panoramic windows so you’re sure not to miss out on the beautiful scenery around you. The sun deck is an open deck at the top of the cruise so on a sunny day you will be able to enjoy the weather as well as the views around you. Throughout the whole journey there is live commentary. They accommodate up to 157 passengers there’s plenty of space for everyone. The Corrib Princess caters for private parties such as: • Sports & social clubs • Evening party cruises • Birthdays • Corporate evenings • Traditional Irish nights A wide range of evening events that can be organized on the Corrib Princess Cruise such as dinner cruises, parties, BBQ cruises and cocktail cruises. Also food and entertainment can be arranged for individual events. The evening party cruises are a longer than the normal day cruises and are on for up to 3 hours. During the cruise, there are many scenic highlights on the way, such as the Galway Cathedral. Other highlights would be Menlo Castle which was built in the 1569. While on the cruise you’ll also be able to see NUI Galway which was established in 1845 and is one of Ireland’s foremost centres of academic excellence. Lough Corrib is also a place where competitive rowing takes place so you may see some exciting competition on the way. It is also the home to a huge range of wildlife and many swan families. This estate has been around since the 1800s and is steeped in history. It is currently one of the West’s most popular tourist destinations. Kylemore Abbey is now home to the Benedictine Nuns who have devoted their entire life to the running and keeping of the grounds. They run their own farms on the grounds which are open to visitors to roam around. They also offer great learning experiences and music education. You will never get bored when visiting this fairy-tale castle as there is always something to do. They run lots of different walks and hikes such as: Woodland walks Lakeshore walks Nature trails Children’s play trails Hill walking Hikes If you wish to educate yourself with some fascinating history then you will not be disappointed. You can visit the restored rooms of the abbey and learn about them whilst doing so as tour guides have an in-depth knowledge of the estate and its past residence. Guides who speak different languages are also available on request. Kylemore Abbey also has magnificent six-acre walled Victorian gardens. It was restored to its former glory in the late 1990s. It is famed for its isolated location and the fact that every variety of plant that is growing there is one which would have been cultivated by Victorian gardeners. The Kylemore Abbey estate is also home to a Gothic Church, Mausoleum where Mitchell and Margaret Henry, the founders of the estate, are buried side by side. There is also a Giants Ironing Stone on show which is used as a ‘wish’ fountain. Whether or not your there for the history or just for the walks you are sure to be amazed and taken in by the sense of spirituality.

Brigit’s Garden is designed to symbolise the four Celtic festivals and does a great job in representing the cycle of life, from conception all the way to death. The garden prides itself on having a biodiversity tag and does so through the help of the stunning Connemara landscape. Brigit’s Garden is intended to bring you on an amazing journey whilst walking through the four gardens: Samhain (sow-en) – The first garden represents the winter season. Samhain, also known as Halloween, marked the beginning of a new calendar year for the early Celtic people. This garden has a very tranquil and relaxed theme to it as it is designed to show the earth resting before the busier seasons arrive and new life starts to form. A river bank in the shape of a sleeping lady does a good job in representing this. When the summer time comes around, the bank blossoms with beautiful flowers and creates an amazing visual, site. Imbolc (Im-ulk) – The second garden represents the spring season. This Celtic festival falls on the 1st February which is now known as St. Brigit’s Day which whom the Garden is named after. The spring season details the birth of new life and symbolises the earth re-awakening from its sleep. Wildflower meadows and gorgeous orchard trees fill the garden and set a very calm but happy atmosphere. Bealtaine (Belt-an-a) – The third garden represents the summer season. This festival is all about the celebration of the warm weather arriving and half the year passing. This gardens theme is love and is set out to promote new lovers and marriages. The flame figure sculptures do a good job in highlighting this theme a long with all the simple, but stunning wildflowers. The garden also contains a throne which is fit for any man or woman to proclaim themselves as king or queen, even if only for ten minutes. Lughnasa (Loo-na-sa) – The fourth and final garden is built to represent the autumn theme. For the Celts, this time was all about celebrating and partying as it marked the beginning of the harvest season and the transition from summer to autumn. This garden has two interlinked stone circles which would be where the Celts celebrated and feasted. This is the time of year to give thanks and the Celts would start to prepare for the Earths long awaited rest. This represents death, meaning the cycle is now complete.
