In the cradle of late vintage, embedded in the wonderful vineyards of Rheingau, lies the Monastery and Restaurant Johannisberg. Up until 2004 the monastery was used as a nunnery by the Sisters of the Benedictine Order. It was then rebuilt into a romantic hotel and restaurant completed with most modern equipment. That is how a nunnery was turned into a special kind of gem, crowned by a vast sun terrace with a breathtaking view of surrounding vineyards and a cozy monastery garden. Hospitality and wellbeing are most important to us. In the tradition of the former habitants of the monastery we welcome every guest to enjoy our culinary master pieces and exquisite local vines. We offer you and your guests 42 generously sized rooms for accommodation. Restaurant Our restaurant persists through its modest yet elegant beauty and its remarkable ambience. Be ready to enjoy the perfect arrangement of selected vines and regularly changing menus. For conferences, product presentations, events and seminars we offer 6 rooms. Started with the minster for up to 150 people, the tallness and small hall for up to 50 people or small seminar rooms for from 2 to 25 guests.
