As armistice of the Korean War was declared, the armistice agreement was executed from Panmunjeom on July 27th 1953 and officially named as Joint Security Area (JSA). Panmunjeon is located 50 km north of Seoul and only 10 km from Gaesung. From JSA, guards from both South and North Korea are monitoring each other under the tight supervision of UNC security battalion. Sightseeing is allowed by reservation only and classified by Korean national and foreigners. In JSA, there are 10 building including the main conference hall of the Military Armistice Commission (MAC) and various meetings between South and North Korea are being held.

Haengju Mountain Wall overlooking Han River is one of three famous battle fields during Japanese invasion: Great Victory of Hansan Islands, Battle of Jinjoo, and Great Victory of Haengju Mountain Wall. Fiercely battling against 30,000 Japanese soldiers for nine days, courage and spirit to protect the country of not only General Geon Yul but women carrying rocks with their makeshift aprons (hence the haengju skirt) ultimately led the battle to victory.
