Greenville Hospital System Swamp Rabbit Trail is a nearly 14 mile multi-use (walking & bicycling) greenway that traverses along the Reedy River, an old railroad corridor and City parks to connect Travelers Rest with the City of Greenville. The Swamp Rabbit Trail will continue to grow throughout the county offering free, safe and fun recreation and transportation opportunities wherever it goes.
What is geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.There are over 1.4 million geocaches in the world today. As of September, 2011, over 60 active Geocaches are located within approximately two-tenths of a mile from the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail, and more are being hidden every day. So here’s another opportunity to enjoy this great upstate recreational resource.
The Swamp Rabbit Interactive Map features trail amenities and points of interest, as well as special considerations for a safe experience. Photos, IPIX 360 degree images, and audio are available at select locations. This web map is accessible from all types of devices and operating systems.

Hidden in a dark corner on Main Street in downtown Greenville, South Carolina, the state's first legal whiskey distillery since Prohibition offers locals and tourists alike a glimpse into the past including a mini museum, storytelling, tastings and tours. Watch as small batches of whiskey, gin, absinthe and other specialties are handcrafted straight from grain to bottle. Shop for gifts in the distillery store chock-full of mountain crafts, local art, and moonshine-infused pantry goods. Distilling Appalachian heritage has never tasted so good!
Community response to the distillery's inviting atmosphere has prompted the owners to offer the distillery as an events space after hours. Dark Corner demonstrates its commitment to the community by focusing on environmental sustainability. They donate the distillery's spent grain to local farm Native Meats, and the distillery's methanol by-product to Be Kind Solutions, a bio diesel distillery who uses it to make custom soap.

The Beattie House, built in the 1830s by Fountain Fox Beattie as a present to his wife, Emily Hamlin of Charleston, is currently the location of the Greenville Woman's Club. The two-story Italianate house is one of the oldest structures in the city. It displays beautiful woodwork, a winding stairway, and tall Renaissance columns. In 1949, in danger of being razed, a group of women arranged to have the house moved to 1 Beattie Place. Finally, in 1983, the house was moved once more to its current location near Park Avenue.
