Independence is located in west-central Missouri just minutes from downtown Kansas City, it is easily accessed from I-70 and I-435. Many people who visit Independence do so to see the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum. The facility is undergoing a major renovation to better tell the Truman story and bring the museum experience into the 21st century. With a population of 121,000, Independence offers a blend of hometown heritage with modern-day amenities.
