Wave Street Studios – Monterey's Premier Eco-Modern Event Venue Tucked along the Recreation Trail above Steinbeck's historic Cannery Row, Wave Street Studios is a hidden gem in Monterey, California — just half a block from McAbee Beach and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This one-of-a-kind, hand-built eco-modern venue was designed and constructed by owner Rhett Allen Smith, doubling as a broadcast studio, concert hall, and private event space, all in one flexible facility. Spanning more than 4,000 square feet across three distinct areas, the venue comfortably hosts up to 150 guests. The Main Studio (1,500 sq. ft.) features a professionally sprung bamboo dance floor, dramatic native granite rock wall backdrop, four oversized copper-clad French doors, heated counters, and two stone restrooms. The adjoining Tea Room (600 sq. ft.) offers 14-foot ceilings, bamboo flooring, and six additional copper-clad French doors, while the Wave Street level offers space for food trucks, pre-ceremony gatherings, and a late-night firepit with s'mores. Outside, an all-weather garden courtyard is framed by a waterfall with fiber-optic lighting, a radiantly heated stone bench, manicured succulent gardens, and granite rock walls — with optional rain cover or sunshades for year-round comfort. A private, on-site historic bungalow with a full kitchen and bathroom is also available for day use. Wave Street Studios is equipped for full-service production, including a professional sound system, wireless handheld mic, a 65" smart TV, and a Yamaha C-7 grand piano — ideal for business meetings, hybrid gatherings, corporate presentations, concerts, and celebrations of every kind. Meetings and events can start as early as 8 AM, with generous rental hours extending into the evening. The venue includes a dedicated on-site event coordinator and full-service support: custom floor plans, setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, lighting, and linens, and seamless transitions between ceremony, reception, and dancing. Clients can arrange full-service catering, work with preferred vendors, or bring their own caterer. All alcohol service is provided exclusively through Wave Street Studios' in-house bar packages, which include bartenders, glassware, and back bar and busing staff. Whether you're planning a wedding, corporate meeting, product launch, concert, or community gathering, Wave Street Studios delivers a beautifully designed, all-in-one setting unlike anywhere else on the Monterey Peninsula.
