Regardless of season the Legislature grounds and rotunda are a great place to spend an afternoon with the family in Edmonton. As fresh fallen flakes fills the sky, go exploring 550 acres of parkland with 12km of interpretive trails. Or just enjoy a relaxing winter hike with the whole family. Bring your own equipment, or rent cross-country skis and snowshoes on-site, fitted by knowledgeable staff. You can even rent a baby glider. Groups of 7 or more people can even book lessons at the Centre.
During the summer months enjoy a family camping trip. Day time picnic sites and a cookhouse compliment overnight campsites that are perfect for that outdoorsy family. We expect the new museum to open in 2018. Construction of the new building is complete, and museum staff are working hard behind-the-scenes to prepare the galleries, as well as outfit the café, gift shop, theatre and offices. Nestled in Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, in the heart of the sweeping Edmonton River Valley, the Edmonton Valley Zoo is home to more than 350 animals.

With a collection of over 6,000 objects, the AGA is a Western Canadian centre of excellence for visual arts offering original contemporary and historical exhibitions from Alberta, across Canada and around the world throughout three bright and airy floors of viewing space.
See Edmonton from a bird's eye view at the Snow Valley Aerial Park! Imagine climbing through a mix between the most amazing treehouse you've ever seen and a giant jungle gym. This incredible tower of obstacles and games is the first of its kind in Canada and 3rd in North America. With a dedicated kid's route on the ground level for ages 3-6, and 90+ games on levels 1 to 3, there is something for everyone. Unique to Snow Valley Aerial Park games include a ski bridge, snowboard balance bridge, a coal car, picnic table, bicycle, plus much more! The games are graded similar to the runs on a ski hill; green, blue and black.
If you are a hard core climbing parent with active kids, go test yourself on the black “Ninja warrior” course. If you are a first timer and afraid of heights, there are games you’ll find rewarding on the first level. The view from the picnic tables on the top deck will be breath taking!

Catch a free ride on the 100 Street Funicular - your link from Downtown Edmonton to the North Saskatchewan River Valley. Take in the sights and sounds of Edmonton 's River Valley as you ride along the side of the bank in the glass walled elevator. The 48-second ride leads you to to a promenade partway down the hill where you can have a picnic, snap pictures, or read a book. Walk across the promenade to the lookout point with an unobstructed view of the river valley.
Rogers Place is an arena built for fans. Among its many significant features are a lower bowl of over 9,000 seats.
With its stunning curvilinear architecture and an interior that’ll make you think you just stepped onto the Starship Enterprise, Rogers Place is sure to make your jaw drop. Ford Hall
Mosey underneath Ford Hall, the public pedway over 104th ave, to see the Oilers Hall of Fame, complete with five replica Stanley Cups, jerseys and memorabilia from the Oilers’ glory years. And don’t miss your chance to grab a selfie with the statue of the Great One himself, Wayne Gretzky.
Head upstairs inside Ford Hall and be wowed by the forty-five foot diameter circular mosaic created by renowned Aboriginal artist Alex Janvier. Named Tsa Tsa Ke K’e (Iron Foot Place), the mosaic features nearly one million byzantine smalti glass tiles arranged in sweeping, colourful lines to symbolize the land where Edmonton calls home.
