The overhaul of the Mercado do Bom Sucesso market formed new and attractive spaces with a fresh, modern feel, which is infused with memories of a unique and inspirational past. The new design incorporates a Market with several contemporary stalls, various different commercial and offices areas and the cutting-edge Hotel da Música. Forming part of the iconic building, the Hotel da Música is much more than a Designer hotel: it marries modernity and comfort in a symphony of culture, cuisine and tradition. The outlines drawn in 1949 – by the architects Fortunado Leal, Cunha Leão and Morais Soares - housed a bustling market with a picturesque mix of flavours and smells. A testament to History, classified by the Ministry of Culture and the IGESPAR as a building of interesting heritage and a Monument of Public Interest, the Bom Sucesso is now reinventing a past of unforgettable sensations.
