San Francisco has always been a city driven by innovation, from the Gold Rush pioneers who first landed in Embarcadero in 1849 to today’s tech entrepreneurs. The General Harrison, a Gold Rush-era ship, was discovered in 2001 during construction, and remains buried beneath our hotel’s foundation, with an outline on the sidewalk marking its location.
