"Gyeongbokgung was built as the new royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty by King Taejo Lee Sung-gye in 1395.
Gyeongbokgung Palace had many buildings burned down during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592 and was rebuilt in 7,700 kan under the leadership of Heungseon Daewongun during King Gojong's reign. Empress Myeongseong assassination in Dynasty's fall, happen again, however, with Gyeongbok palace and functioning as a royal palace was. Gyeongbokgung Palace is home to the most representative buildings of the Joseon Dynasty, including Gyeonghoeru and Hyangwonjeong Pavilion."
