In August of 2016, chef Laurel Burleson launched the Ugly Apple Food Cart. She has been cooking in professional kitchens since high school and has a degree in hospitality management. After cooking for several years around Chicago and Madison, she saw how much was going to waste of this fantastic Midwestern produce. She envisioned owning a cafe that focused on delicious local produce. Hence, the Ugly Apple was born. Like the story of the Ugly Duckling, the Ugly Apple might not be bought at market but can still make a beautiful fritter. We lifted off in November of 2016 and love serving the community of Madison, Wisconsin with the cart and with “Breakfast All Day” catering! Give us a call to discuss your upcoming event!

Catering—The Arts Center’s chef can provide a range of catering—from receptions and elegant dinners to ethnic buffets and picnics. A list of preferred caterers is also available. Matrix Standing Reception 400 | Seating for Dining 300 This spacious hall is a blank canvas just waiting to be customized to suit your every need. The Matrix can be partially or fully closed off from the rest of the Arts Center by large hanging panels, allowing private events to take place even while the Arts Center is open to the public. This is a magnificent space for dinners and dancing, weddings, receptions, performances, and large-scale presentations.
