Public Transport: 1) Board the train from Singapore Changi Airport and alight at the Tanah Merah Station. Transfer to the Green Line heading towards Outram Station. 2) Alight at Outram Station, then transfer to the Purple Line to Chinatown, exiting via Exit E (towards Chinatown Point Shopping Centre). The hotel is a one-minute walk from this station. *Estimated travel time from Changi Airport is one hour. Airport Transfer: 1) To book an airport transfer, please contact our Concierge team via email at gec.prsps@parkroyalcollection.com Driving Directions: 1)From Singapore Changi Airport, head onto the East Coast Parkway (ECP) and take Exit 15 to Rochor Road. Turn left at North Bridge Road, then right at North Boat Quay, followed by another left at New Bridge Road. Turn left onto Upper Pickering Street to arrive at the hotel. Parking Facilities: Hotel guests enjoy complimentary parking, while city guests can park on our premises for a fee. Carpark Charges: In-house guests: Complimentary (one ticket per redemption, up to a maximum of two redemptions per guestroom per day) City Guest: • SGD 5 for the first hour • SGD 2.50 every subsequent 30 minutes • Capped at SGD 50 • Opening hours: 24 hours

Like all the great things, Chinatown had a humble beginning. Following Singapore's founding, migrants looking to make their fortune in Singapore began arriving in droves. Life back then wasn't easy for the man on the street and home often meant nothing more than a wooden board to serve as a bed. Fresh water had to be carted in by bullock-drawn carts, the practice of which gave rise to Chinatown's other name - Niu Che Shui, or Bullock-Cart-Water. Over the years, Chinatown has changed and evolved, but it remains our beloved enclave of culture and tradition, defined by the very people who live, work and play on its streets

At present, five blocks of restored warehouses house various restaurants and nightclubs. There are also moored Chinese junks (tongkangs) that have been refurbished into floating pubs and restaurants. The Cannery is one of the anchor tenants of the place. There are over 5 different concepts in one block. Another anchor tenant, The Arena, will be home to Singapore's First Permanent Illusion Show (starting August 2008) starring J C Sum and 'Magic Babe' Ning.[1] The G-MAX reverse bungee, the first in Singapore, is located at the entrance which opened in November 2003. Notable restaurants and nightclubs include Hooters and Indochine. River cruises and river taxis on the Singapore River can be accessed from Clarke Quay. One of its most popular attractions is its exciting host of CQ's signature events happening once every quarter. Clark Quay has become known as a hub of Singaporean nightclubs including Zirca, and up until 2008, the Ministry of Sound. Clarke Quay MRT Station is located within the vicinity. A new SOHO concept development cum shopping centre called The Central, above the MRT station, was completed in 2007. In July 2012, Hong Kong lifestyle retail store G.O.D. opened a 6,000 square foot flagship store in the Quay.[2]
