President Abraham Lincoln Springfield - a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel is located in the heart of historic downtown Springfield, in one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas and tourist centers in central Illinois. This sophisticated city is a hub of commerce, and is known for its easy access to all of the Lincoln sites plus New Salem Village. In addition, we are the only hotel with an underground concourse leading directly into the Bank of Springfield Convention Center also known as the BOS Center. We have shuttle service to and from the Springfield Capital Airport and the Amtrak Station. The hotel is located at the intersection of Adams Street and 7th. From Interstate 55 exit Clear Lake Road (exit 98B), continue on Clear Lake Road to 9th street. Turn Left onto 9th Street and proceed 1 block to Adams and turn left. The hotel will be on the left.

Lincoln's home in downtown Springfield has proved irresistible to visitors since it first opened to the public in 1887. Constructed in 1839 and beautifully restored to its 1860 appearance, the 12-room, Greek Revival house was Abraham and Mary Lincoln's home for 17 years. Today, the Lincolns' home draws hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Admission to tour the house is free, but tickets are issued on a first-come, first-served basis and often fill up quickly. Each tour is limited to 15 individuals. Pick up a ticket inside the Lincoln Home Visitor Center for the 20-25 minute tour of the home. The first tour of the day begins at 9am, with the last tour begining at 4:30pm. The ranger-led tour looks at the Lincoln family in the seventeen years they resided in the house on the corner of Eighth and Jackson Streets. Abraham Lincoln's rise as a successful lawyer and politician, along with his 1860 presidential campaign are also explored. The Museum features many inspiring exhibits on Lincoln’s life, visitors are awed by the Museum’s Treasures Gallery, which features a rotating exhibit of the most precious of artifacts related to Abraham Lincoln. Many of the exhibited items are from the Taper Collection, acknowledged as the largest privately held collection of Lincolniana in the world before its purchase by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation in 2007. In addition to permanent exhibits, temporary exhibits make other collections related to Lincoln’s life and times available to the public. The first of many one-of-a-kind exhibits opened in the Museum’s Illinois Gallery in April 28, 2007. Mary Todd Lincoln: First Lady of Controversy displayed dozens of artifacts—clothing, jewelry, photos, and letters—relating to Mary Lincoln’s marriage, her role as First Lady of the United States, and the emotional and mental distress she experienced over her husband’s assassination, the death of her son Willie, and her estrangement from her eldest son, Robert. There is so much to see in the Museum that many visitors make return trips to experience anew some parts and acquaint themselves with areas they may have overlooked. With temporary exhibits, special programs, guest speakers, and theatrical presentations, visitors can expect something new every time they walk through the Museum’s doors.
