Named after the silver-coin mint established in 1612, the modern era of high-fashion and even higher prices began in 1872 when, after a fire, the district was rebuilt with Georgian buildings designed by Irish architect Thomas Waters. Most have disappeared over the years, with the notable exception of the famous Wakō building and its iconic Hattori Clock Tower, built by Kintarō Hattori, the founder of Seiko watches. Ginza is now famous as an upscale retail district featuring department stores, boutiques, restaurants and coffeehouses. Several retailers have flagship stores here, including Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Sony and Apple. The main north - south artery is closed to traffic on weekends, allowing more time to wander and wonder at the vast array of luxury goods. From the Conrad Tokyo Ginza is just a five minute walk.

Hamarikyu Gardens is a public park in Chuo, Tokyo, Japan. Located at the mouth of the Sumida River, it was opened April 1, 1946. The park is a 250,165 square meters landscaped garden surrounding Shioiri Pond, the park itself surrounded by a seawater moat filled by Tokyo Bay. It was remodeled as a public garden park on the site of a villa of the Shogun Tokugawa family in the 17th century.

Yes, Hilton is committed to reducing waste across our portfolio. All of our hotels were required to remove plastic straws, stir sticks and cocktail picks in 2019, and we are currently transitioning from individual bath toiletries to full-size dispensers.
