Vancouver Convention Centre - VCC

Surrounded by the mountains and located on the waterfront at Canada Place in the heart of beautiful downtown Vancouver, the Vancouver Convention Centre is an award-winning facility. In fiscal year 2010, we hosted 350+ events and 225,000 delegates, and generated more than $215 million in economic activity for the province of British Columbia.
The Vancouver Convention Centre opened in July 1987 after originally serving as the Canada Pavilion at the World’s Fair in 1986. Since inception, the facility has demonstrated a constant commitment to service excellence, technical capabilities, and creative high-quality banqueting. With our expansion complete, we’ve tripled our size to cover 1.1 million square feet (or four city blocks) for a combined total of 466,500 square feet of pre-function, meeting, exhibition, and ballroom space.
YVR Airport is located in Sea Island, Richmond, British Columbia, about 12 km (7.5 miles) southwest of downtown Vancouver. It has won notable awards and it has been the Best North American Airport by Skytrax for 9 consecutive years.
Coal Harbour
Coal Harbour is the name for a section of Burrard Inlet lying between Vancouver's Downtown Peninsula and the Brockton Point of Stanley Park. It has also now become the name of the neighbourhood adjacent to its southern shoreline.
Vancouver Seawall:
Vancouver has the world's longest uninterrupted waterfront path. The 28 km Seaside Greenway is an uninterrupted pathway, including the Stanley Park Seawall, that extends from the Vancouver Convention Centre to Spanish Banks Park. Perfect for a walk, cycle, or jog, it is the most popular recreational spot in the city.
The Seawall is divided in to two clearly marked sections - one for walkers and joggers (closest to the water), and one for cyclists and inline skaters (inside path).
Be sure to follow the signs to make sure you use the seawall safely, especially on sunny summer days and weekends when the area is particularly busy.

Our permanent holdings number nearly 10,000 artworks, making the Gallery among the most valuable collections in Canada.

Just over 40 years later SFU has over 25,000 students and 90,000 alumni, and more than 700 tenure-track faculty. The original campus has grown into three vibrant campuses in Burnaby, Vancouver and Surrey and SFU’s reputation has grown into one of innovative teaching, research, and community outreach.

In the same building as the Museum of Vancouver, the space center and observatory has hands-on displays and exhibits that will delight budding astronomy buffs and their parents (or older space buffs and their children). Displays are highly interactive: In the Cosmic Courtyard, you can try designing a spacecraft or maneuvering a lunar robot. Or punch a button and get a video explanation of the Apollo 17 manned-satellite engine that stands before you. The exciting Virtual Voyages Simulator takes you on a voyage to Mars -- it's a thrilling experience for kids and adults. In the GroundStation Canada Theatre, video presentations explore space, in general, and Canada's contributions to the space program. The StarTheatre shows movies -- many of them for children -- on an overhead dome. Evening laser and light shows feature cult-favorite albums (say by Pink Floyd or Radiohead) played loudly.

On Treetops Adventure venture from one magnificent old growth Douglas-fir to another on a series of seven elevated suspension bridges, reaching as high as 110 feet (33m), for a squirrel's eye view of the forest. Guides, signage and interactive exhibits throughout the park help you in your understanding of rainforest ecosystems and their sustainability.
