The Sandpiper Lodge is located on 6.5 acres of sub-tropical and native gardens at Christian Bay on the Takatu Peninsula. Just one hour’s drive from Auckland and near Matakana the Takatu Peninsula is an “undiscovered” part of Auckland’s eastern coastline, looking out to Kawau Island and encompassing the fabulously un-crowded surf beaches and the beautiful walks of the Tawharanui Regional Park. Vineyards, farmers markets, museums, arts, crafts and pottery at nearby Matakana add to the charm of the region. The boutique hotel has a superb restaurant offering guests the best ingredients available in simple, classical, comforting food with a twist. It has seven luxury, recently refurbished ensuited guest rooms and its light and spacious high beamed function room is ideal for a variety of small conferences or one day events and meetings.
