The Majestic Theatre is San Antonio's oldest and largest atmospheric theatre. The theatre seats 2,311 people and was designed by architect John Eberson, for Karl Hoblitzelle's Interstate Theatres in 1929. In 1975, the theatre was listed on the National Register of Historical Places and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1993. The theatre has been home to the San Antonio Symphony, since 1989. For many years, it remained the largest theatre in Texas and the second largest movie theatre in the United States. It was also the first theatre in the state to be totally air-conditioned.

A three-block outdoor plaza lined with restaurants, shops and produce stands near San Antonio's city center, Market Square is the largest Mexican market in the U.S. It is one of America's top -ten outdoor markets according to Frommer's. The memories of James Bowie, David Crockett, and William B. Travis are as powerful today as when the Texan Army under Sam Houston shouted "Remember the Alamo!"

Gonzalez Convention Center (HBGCC) plays host to more than 300 events each year with over 750,000 convention delegates from around the world. The HBGCC, built as part of the 1968 HemisFair and expanded three times since, is now a beautifully decorated and spacious facility with 1.3 million square feet. Facility features include: • 67 meeting rooms • 4 exhibit halls with over 440,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space • 3 elegant ballrooms including Ballroom C with approximately 40,000 sq. ft. • Full service UPS Business Center • 36 loading docks, including 24 covered docks • WiFi connectivity • Compressed air, electricity, water and drainage available in the exhibit halls The HBGCC complex also features the Lila Cockrell Theatre, a 2,307-seat Performing Arts Theatre. The Alamodome and more than 13,000 of the City’s downtown hotel rooms (over 42,000 citywide) are within minutes and walking distance as well as restaurants and entertainment.

Located on the south bank of the San Antonio River, La Villita was San Antonio's first neighborhood. It was originally a settlement of primitive huts for the Spanish soldiers stationed at the Mission San Antonio Valero (the Alamo). After a flood in 1819, brick, stone and adobe houses replaced the earlier structures. In 1836, La Villita was the site of General Santa Ana's cannon line in the Battle of the Alamo and a map from early that year showed the village to be of considerable size. Late in the 19th century European immigrants from Germany and France moved into the area. These pioneers became San Antonio's business leaders, bankers, educators, and craftsmen. The cultural mix that occurred at this time is best illustrated by the variety of architectural styles reflected in La Villita's buildings. The architecture portrays the evolution of buildings from palisado to Victorian Houses. The first part of the 20th century saw La Villita decline. In 1939, as ground broke on the San Antonio River Walk development, city fathers led by Mayor Maury Maverick acted to preserve this colorful part of San Antonio's history. Today La Villita is a thriving art community that stands as a monument to San Antonio's past.
