Broomhall Castle was built in 1874 and originally was a private residence built in the style of Balmoral Castle by the younger of the Johnstone Brothers. In 2003 the current family bought Broomhall Castle with a view to turning it into a small hotel. Extensive works have been carried out including a new restaurant with exposed stonework and a lounge to enjoy your before and after dinner drinks. The hotel offers ten en-suite bedrooms which have all been refurbished to a high standard with Solid Wooden Beds and Quality Mattresses. Cleanliness is very important to us and we pride ourselves on our top quality cotton linen. Broomhall Castle can provide meeting rooms, small or large conference rooms and depending on requirements and chosen layout, we can accommodate numbers of up to 100 delegates. Broomhall Castle can cater for weddings of any size between 2 and 100 guests for your ceremony and meal with a maximum capacity of 150 for your evening reception.

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Liberated from the confines of a single location, Covert Cocktail Club now brings the speakeasy right to your door—be it at your home, office, bar mitzvah, dinner party, bachelor/ette party or anywhere you choose!
