Jinsha Site Museum

År 2006, efter sex års konstruktion, slutfördes Jinsha Site Museum äntligen. Täcker en total yta på cirka 38 000 kvadratmeter (9 tunnland) och består huvudsakligen av Relics Hall, Exhibition Hall, Cultural Heritage Protection Center och Ecological Garden. Det är ett sällsynt platsmuseum bland kinesiska museer på grund av dess kombination av modern civilisation och civilisationen i forntida Shu State (Sichuan-provinsen kallades Shu State i antiken), liksom kombinationen av ekologisk miljö och kultur.
Jinsha Site Museum är byggt för att skydda, studera och visa de arkeologiska fynden av Jinsha Site, som upptäcktes av arkeologer i februari 2001. Täcker ett område på cirka fem kvadratkilometer (1,236 tunnland), Jinsha Site går antagligen tillbaka till cirka 3,000 år sedan, tiden från den sena Shang-dynastin (17-11-talet f.Kr.) till den tidiga vår- och höstperioden (770 BC-476 f.Kr.). Det är kärnan i Shang och Zhou-dynastin (1600-talet f.Kr. 221 f.Kr.) och den andra antika staden Shu State hittades först efter Three-Star Piles Museum. Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (hädanefter Chengdu Panda Base) är en ideell organisation som bedriver forskning om vilda djur, uppfödning i fångenskap, bevarande utbildning, och utbildningsturism.
Chengdu Panda Base grundades 1987, med sex jättepandor räddade från naturen. Idag (2008) har vår fångenskap ökat till 83 individer från den grundande befolkningen på bara sex. Genetisk mångfald i befolkningen upprätthålls genom utbyte av bevarat genetiskt material med andra anläggningar. Vi är mycket stolta över att vi inte har tagit några gigantiska pandor från naturen på 20 år. Detta visar vårt unika och kompromisslösa engagemang för bevarandet av den vilda (in situ) befolkningen och den sunda tillväxten av den fångna (ex situ) befolkningen.
På grund av vår forskning och vårt engagemang för djurhälsa och välbefinnande har 124 gigantiska pandaungar fötts till vår bas i 85 kullar, 88 överlevde och nu har vi 83. För att hjälpa andra institutioner som håller gigantiska pandor tillhandahåller vi teknisk support och skickar våra experter för att hjälpa till med vård, uppfödning, och avel. Så att alla gigantiska pandaforskare kan dela sin kunskap, vi är värd för Giant Panda årliga tekniska möte, bjuda in forskare från hela världen att dela information för att förbättra fångenskapsförvaltningen för bevarande av jättepandor.
Chengdu Panda Base täcker ett område på 106 hektar och kommer att utvidgas till 200 hektar under den tredje fasen av vår expansion. Röda pandor, gyllene apor och andra vilda och/eller hotade arter lever och föder upp här.
