York Castle Museum’s recreated Victorian Street is its most famous attraction and never fails to delight. Surrounded by dozens of shops packed with goods from another era, the street is a spacious but surprisingly intimate evening venue. Your guests will enjoy a truly unique dining experience. Seated banquets for up to 80 people can be held on the street itself. It is also possible to hire the Museum for much larger buffet and drinks receptions, with a maximum capacity of 150 guests. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements in greater detail and we will be delighted to help you plan your event.

Once upon a time in 2016, Matt Levy, founder of Covert Cocktail Club, hosted a secret speakeasy as an intimate place for strangers to gather in his home. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”.
A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era.
