Blue Bell opened its Sylacauga manufacturing facility in 1996. Sylacauga is located about 45 miles southeast of Birmingham off of Highway 280 in central Alabama. Tours are available by appointment only, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Effective January 1, 2010: Admission Costs (Includes a serving of Blue Bell Ice Cream) General Admission $3.00 Senior Citizens (55+) and Children (6 to 14) $2.00 Schools and MHMR groups are Free (September thru February) Schools and MHMR groups (March 1st thru August 31st) $1.00 per person Tours last 45 minutes and include a serving of ice cream. With over 25 "Wacky" attractions including our three-quarter acre Lost Trail Maze, Panning for Gemstones, and the always popular Wacky Water Golf, we're sure you'll have a great time at Alabama's Big Cave and More, DeSoto Caverns Family Fun Park. Attractions are open year round with the exception of the water attractions and the butterfly house which close at the end of October and reopen in April.

Pennington, the buildings that have become the core of Iron City Birmingham have had a long history in the auto industry and left a lasting impression on the Southside landscape. Our historic location was considered one of the most modern car facilities of its time. It is fitting that Iron City’s reconstruction was driven by another entrepreneur in the car business, Steve DeMedicis.
