About us
Ngala Lodge situated in a former ambassador’s residence located between the British High Commission and the Medical Research Counsel in Bakau/Fakara. We are small, intimate hotel which is very popular with Couples and we have many recurring guests what means that early booking is recommended. For an extra special occasion we can offer besides our luxury standard suites a variety of extra upgraded suites including a penthouse with its private rooftop terrace with shower and skylight above the bed. The atmosphere at Ngala Lodge is extremely relaxed and friendly with very individual service; to help you unwind you can enjoy a massage or manicure in your suite or choose to have breakfast on your private balcony or terrace - nothing is too much trouble. Within the grounds there are a number of sunbathing terraces, seating areas and traditional African Bantabas (meeting places), which provide private hideaways for guests to enjoy a relaxing drink and a quiet book. The attractive gardens ensure a high degree of privacy with only a small number of guests in residence at any one time and make the most of the enviable location of The Gambia, which enjoys a magnificent setting with stunning views looking out from its cliff-top position towards the ocean. There is also a swimming pool and small beach which can be reached at low tide via steep steps – a great spot for fishing.
