About us

In a historic early twentieth-century building set against the charming backdrop of Piazzetta Vigo, the 4 star Hotel Grande Italia in Chioggia overlooks the south end of the lagoon, less than an hour from Venice. Hotel Grande Italia is right in the city center, in the pedestrian area of the old fishing village of Chioggia, in a refined and comfortable setting, where the best services are offered with the warm hospitality of an expert, multilingual staff. Housed inside a restored early twentieth-century building, Hotel Grande Italia in Chioggia is a comfortable, classy 4-star residence in a unique and charming location, with a view of the gorgeous Venetian Lagoon. Just outside the hall, the square that surrounds the hotel and the silhouette of the famous Ponte Vigo revive atmospheres from the past that can be found throughout the hotel, among original stucco walls, "terraced" floors and chandeliers made of Murano glass.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
