Danish Museum of Nursing History

Just a stone's throw from Hotel Koldingfjord is the Dansk Sygeplejehistorisk Museum (Danish Nursing History Museum). Dive down into the historical report from the time when Hotel Koldingfjord functioned as a sanatorium for children with tuberculosis. The exhibition further shows the history of nursing, patients and the health system in Denmark, from the Middle Ages to the present. Thus, the visitors get to go the rounds, visit the operating room, patients in their beds and the psychiatric wards.
The museum has changing special exhibitions and offers tailored introductions for groups.

The only museum in Denmark where you can see both the visual arts, crafts, design and furniture design. The Exhibitions are always offering new and exciting experience with international and Danish artists and designers.
The museum has a fine collection of modern art and also contains Denmark's largest collection of chairs from the 20th Century, and Arne Jacobsen's unique holiday house.
Trapholts location and architecture is an attraction in itself. The Museum meanders through the sculpture park and a beautiful garden high above the Kolding Fjord. From the museum and cafe there is a fantastic view.

Koldinghus

Above the centre of Kolding stands the castle of Koldinghus.
It was on this site in 1268 that the Danish King built a fortress for the purpose of guarding the border between the kingdom of Denmark and the Duchy of Schleswig.
The earliest parts still standing date from the 15th century. The fortress was rebuilt as an unfortified castle in the mid-16th century, and the Great Tower - also known as the Heroes Tower - was added around 1600. At that time the King often stayed at Koldinghus.
Excellent temporary exhibitions, and impressive silver collections of faience ware and war memorabilia.

You can go to Sydney. Or Lillebælt. In both places, you can walk above a bridge. Experience the height. The sinking feeling. The spectacular and unimpeded view. Enjoy the water. The ships. The view towards the land. The weather. The weak shaking of the bridge when a train is rumbling over the bridge. Bridgewalking Lillebælt is a new, unique attraction in Europe. In May 2015, the first tourists can take a walk to the top. Please come along and have quite a unique experience, which has not been possible in Europe before.
The walk will start at The Welcome Centre. Here our very skilled guides will meet and prepare you for the wonderful walk you are going to take. You will walk together from the Welcome Centre to The Old Lillebælt Bridge where you will be connected to a security system – and then you are going up! At a height of 60 metres, you will cross the bridge. During the walk, the guide will inform you of the bridge architecture, the history, the building and the nature around Lillebælt. We look forward to welcoming you in the heights!
