About us
Set along the sparkling shores of Mission Bay, the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is a 310-room tropical escape in San Diego’s Pacific Beach community. Surrounded by palm trees, koi ponds, waterfalls, and friendly parrots, the resort blends casual elegance with a relaxed Polynesian spirit only 8 miles from the airport. Guest rooms, studios, and suites each include a private balcony or patio overlooking Mission Bay, the Pacific Ocean coastline, or the resort’s lush gardens. The Catamaran features 14 flexible indoor and outdoor venues, including its signature Kon Tiki Meeting Room with an A-frame design and soaring 25-foot ceiling for up to 425 guests. Many meeting rooms offer sweeping bay views, natural light, and private patios, and the scenic sandy beach on Mission Bay creates a memorable setting for gatherings of all sizes. Groups can also set sail on the resort’s classic sternwheeler boat, the William D. Evans, which cruises the bay and accommodates up to 450 guests. The friendly team makes planning simple by helping coordinate team building activities, beach picnics, meeting packages, and catered events. On-site dining options include the waterfront Oceana Coastal Kitchen with chef-driven California cuisine, and Moray’s, a laid-back bar with signature cocktails, local craft beer, and outdoor seating lined with tiki torches and fire pits. In the lobby, Lava Java offers grab-and-go coffee, smoothies, and light bites. Resort amenities include a lagoon-style pool, beach cabanas, an open-air fitness center, and seasonal outdoor yoga. The Catamaran Spa, San Diego's only beachfront spa, features innovative treatments using tropical botanicals and marine-based products. Steps from the hotel, guests can rent paddleboards, sailboats, kayaks, and bikes. Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, and attractions like SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and the Gaslamp District are all close by.
