Taxi: It's a 20-30 minutes trip and is around €30.
Aerobus shuttle: Drops off at Atocha, Cibeles (night) and O'Donell-Doctor Esquerdo to Airport T1,T2 and T4 and costs 5€.
Subway: Take L8 from airport to Mar de Cristal. Disembark at the Colombia station. From there you can walk ten minutes to the hotel. (approximately 38 min). If you are in the city for a few days buy a T-10, Multi-person card for 10 journeys, (€12,20). It's cheaper than a single ticket (1,50€).
From Chamartin Station: you may take Metro Line 10 direct to Cuzco station and walk five minutes to the hotel.
From Atocha Station: you may take a train to Nuevos Ministerios station where you will transfer to Metro Line 10. Disembark at the Cuzco station and walk to the hotel. Closest metro station: Cuzco (L10).
If you are in the city for a few days buy a T-10, Multi-person card for 10 journeys, (€12,20). It's cheaper than a single ticket (1,50€).

Real Madrid is one of our city’s three professional football teams, together with Atlético de Madrid and Rayo Vallecano. Holder of multiple European and international titles, the club opens its doors 363 days a year for football and sports fans to explore its historic stadium, an absolute must on your trip to Madrid.
Named after the club’s legendary president who headed Real Madrid between 1943 and 1978, the Santiago Bernabéu stadium was opened in 1947. It has a capacity for 81,044, 245 VIP boxes and four restaurants.

Atocha station (AVE HIGH SPEED TRAIN)

On 9 February 1851 Spain's second railway was opened, linking Madrid and Aranjuez, and with it the capital's first railway station, Atocha, at that time a simple stopping point with a wooden platform.
The station was subsequently expanded, in 1865 and 1892. The most notable feature of the work done in the latter year is the roof over the central section. Designed by the engineer Saint-James and measuring 152 metres long by 48 metres wide and rising to a height of 27 metres, it has become one of the city's best-known landmarks.

The Prado's walls are lined with masterpieces from the Spanish, Italian and Flemish schools, including Velázquez’ Las Meninas and Goya’s Third of May, 1808. Its collection comprises 8,600 paintings and over 700 sculptures, so we recommend deciding what you want to see before stepping into the museum. If you are short on time, the Prado's website suggests three itineraries, lasting 1, 2 and 3 hours and covering the museum's most important masterpieces.

In Room 206 you’ll find one of the museum’s highlight: Picasso’s masterpiece Guernica. Showcased by the Spanish Republican Government at the International Exposition of 1937 in Paris, the mural depicts the bombing of the old Basque city of Gernika in April 1937 and has become a lasting image of the horror of war.

Long before Madrid became the capital of Spain, Emir Mohamed I chose Magerit (the city's Arabic name) as the site for a fortress to protect Toledo from the advancing Christians. The building was eventually used by the Kings of Castille until finally becoming what would be known as the Antiguo Alcázar (Old Fortress) in the 14th century. Charles I and his son Philip II turned the building into a permanent residence for the Spanish royal family. However, in 1734 a fire burnt the Palace of Los Austrias to the ground, and Philip V ordered the construction of the palace that stands today.
