Our company was founded in 2008 by Alana Hoye Barnaba. Originally from upstate New York, Alana moved to New York City and immediately began her love affair with its food, history, and culture. For years before creating her company, Alana tried every type of food the city had to offer and began specializing in the tastes of ethnic neighborhoods. Some of her first experiences with the city’s culinary adventures were fresh dumplings and homemade mozzarella — foods included on the signature tour today. Soon after, Alana started Ahoy New York Tours & Tasting and has been sharing her love for the passion, culture, and history of the city through food tours of New York neighborhoods. The Brooklyn Comedy Collective is a comedy theater and school in Brooklyn with a mission to produce irreverent, fearless shows from a wide range of voices and inspire students to approach performance from a place of joy and fierceness. From year-round comedy classes to workshops for businesses large and small to improv festivals and live comedy produced Tues-Sundays nights in East Williamsburg, we celebrate anyone who wants to let their freak flag fly. We offer a wide array of classes in improv, sketch, and stand-up and more - available year-round at our fabulous training centers in North Brooklyn - The Dog House (137 Montrose Ave, Brooklyn) & The Pig Pen (144 Boerum St, Brooklyn). Just a 1 minute walk away, we produce shows Tuesday-Sunday at our two-floor, kick-ass theater called Eris (167 Graham Ave, Brooklyn). We offer private shows and team-building improv workshops teaching the skills of improvisation to businesses and orgs of all size, including Fortune 500 companies, at our space our yours.

Terminal 5 has proven to be a premier event venue that offers a unique, stylish and contemporary environment in midtown Manhattan. For its size, Terminal 5 has a very intimate feel, but can accommodate a diverse range of events from a small meeting for 40 guests to a large holiday party for thousands. Clients and event planners have appreciated Terminal 5’s column-free main floor with unobstructed sightlines and 40-foot ceilings that showcase the venue’s state-of-the-art in-house sound and lighting system. Other features include: ground-floor load-in/load-out capabilities (seven large service doors into the main event space) and dramatic multiple levels that provide flexibility and an easy transition from a theater-style meeting to an extravagant cocktail party. In hosting a diverse range of events—including parties, meetings, fashion shows, product launches, benefits, weddings, film, video and photo shoots, trade events, musical performances and award shows—Terminal 5 has highlighted its versatility and has worked effectively for a wide variety of clients.
