About us

Hotel La Badia is located at Loc. La Badia, 8 in the city of Orvieto in Italy. The hotel provides excellent services for a memorable stay in the hotel. The windows of the rooms look out onto the extraordinary view of the tufa rocks of Orvieto. The beautifully designed 21 rooms and 5 suites are equipped with all the modern conveniences expected of a four star country hotel and furnished with a tasteful mix of antiques. The former Oratorio del Crocefisso (Oratory of the Crucifix) with a magnificent fresco of the Crucifixion with its moving "Cristo Patiens" on the wall has been turned into an imposing Conference Hall. The hotel provides 2 conference room with a seating capacity of 30 to 150 persons.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
