Practices include eliminating plastic bottles, using social entrepreneurs like Sisters in Business for textiles, and composting all food waste via "Ureist." We have removed plastic straws, stirrers, and bottled water. Guests are provided with reusable water carafes and can access water stations on each floor.
Does your hotel generate (onsite) or purchase (offsite) renewable energy (beyond your utility's standard offerings)? If yes, please describe your practices for generating or purchasing renewable energy.
They purchase renewable energy and use a sophisticated heat-recovery system onsite to minimize external energy needs.
