About us

The Hilton Scranton & Conference Center hotel is in the prime location of the Northeast for your Regional Meetings. We are located in historic downtown Scranton, Pa just off interstate 81 exit 185 and close to interstate 80, 81, 84, 380 and 476. We are a full service Hilton with a Starbucks, indoor saltwater pool, fitness center and a 24-hour business center. Our Scranton, PA hotel has 17 meeting rooms, and grand ballroom accommodating up to 500 guests. We are a perfect place to host your conference, wedding, reunion or special event. Local companies located near the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center hotel include VaxServe, Bank of America, Cigna, Cinram, Prudential, and CPG International. The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is housed in one of the most glorious pieces of architecture to be found in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Originally built as the Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite Cathedral, the building is significant as an example of the work of Raymond M. Hood (1881-1934), a prominent architect of the 1920's and early 1930's, and as a unique example of Neo-Gothic architecture in Scranton. Raymond Hood's productive career spanned from 1922, when he and a collaborator won the Chicago Tribune design competition, to his untimely death at 53 in 1934. Hood became a nationally prominent architect trained in the Beaux Arts tradition and proficient with historic styles. During those 12 years, Hood was the principle designer or primary collaborator in a number of high-profile progressive skyscraper designs, mainly in New York City, where he designed the Daily News Building and the McGraw-Hill Building in mid-town Manhattan, and was part of the team that designed Radio City Music Hall. His best known work being Rockefeller Center.

The Electric City Trolley Museum is a collaborative effort involving many partners. Together they have created a premier electric railway museum in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In 1887, Scranton was Pennsylvania’s first city with a successful pioneer trolley line and became known as “The Electric City.” The museum collection provides a highly representative picture of the electric railway history of eastern Pennsylvania, from the Philadelphia region to Northeast Pennsylvania. The museum was created by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority. Lackawanna County manages the museum day-to-day. The facility itself, located on the Steamtown National Historic Site, is on long-term lease from the National Park Service. The trolleys operate over tracks owned by both Steamtown and the Pennsylvania Northeast Regional Railroad Authority, including a portion of the historic Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley “Laurel Line” third-rail interurban right-of-way.

Yes, Hilton is committed to reducing waste across our portfolio. All of our hotels were required to remove plastic straws, stir sticks and cocktail picks in 2019, and we are currently transitioning from individual bath toiletries to full-size dispensers.
