About us

The Hotel Tonnara Trabia is situated at the entrance of Trabia, a village between Palermo and Cefalu, in an area rich in history and natural beauties, near to the Principi Lanza Castle; it was born after a careful restoration of the ancient Tonnara of the XVI century where, in the period between May and June, the ancient ceremony of the so-called "mattanza" took place, a cruel but fascinating tunny fishing which was made under the precise order of the Rais and which was accompanied by songs whose rhythm stressed the fishing. The hotel is open all year long and is composed of 114 rooms, equipped with modern facilities. The hotel is an ideal place for meetings and conferences. The hotel’s conference rooms are ideal for meetings for a maximum of 250 people. The hotel has 2 conference rooms for business events.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.

Simple And Fun Each Tourist Scavenger Hunt is around 40 steps, 2-3 hours in duration on a 3-4km circuit which brings you back to the start.
