For several thousand years, Tromsø has been a meeting place for people from different cultures. Traders from near and far moved here after Tromsø was granted city status in 1794 and, more than two centuries later, Tromsø remains a popular meeting place. The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”.
