Local Attractions

Sailing on The Silmaril

0 mi. away
Welcome aboard sailing yacht 'SILMARIL,' where we offer our guests PRIVATE and EXCLUSIVE full day, half day, sunset, or overnight charters sailing the British Virgin Islands. SILMARIL is located at the Peter Island Marina in the beautiful British Virgin Islands. She is a classic and elegant 51 foot Hans Christian Sloop. Whether, it is sailing the warm trade winds, snorkeling in pristine waters, or swimming and relaxing in a small cove with your loved ones, we will create a memorable experience. With so many stunning beaches to see, islands to explore and activities to do, an itinerary is designed just for you.

The Baths Virgin Gorda

10 mi. away
Encompassing the beaches and rocky shoreline at the southwestern tip of Virgin Gorda, The Baths is a collection of massive granite boulders as large as 40 feet in diameter, with white sand beaches and secret rock pools. The cavernous surroundings are a result of the molten rock seeping up into the existing volcanic rock layers; because the molten rock did not reach the surface it cooled slowly and formed the hard crystalline granite layer. Further shrinkage and cracking formed blocks, which were exposed when the softer volcanic rock above eroded away. Weathering rounded the corners of the boulders to what they are today. These massive boulders are also found at Fallen and Broken Jerusalem. A series of steps and rope handrails guide explorers along a trail through the boulders from the beach at The Baths to the sandy expanse that is Devil's Bay. This popular daytime anchourage is ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The dinghy dock offshore prevents the beach from becoming overcrowded with dinghies, whilst mooring buoys protect the reef from anchor damage. Swim line markers guide vessels through safe channels when approaching the beaches, but caution should always be used and speeds should not exceed 5mph. Onshore facilities include bathrooms and lockers, creating a safe and enjoyable experience in this unique environment.

Diving with Paradise Watersports

0 mi. away
We are located at the Peter Island Resort marina and our hours are usually 9:00 am to 4:30 pm 7 days a week. Certified divers can sign up for our 2 tank morning dives, new divers enjoy our afternoon resort courses, and snorkelers love our tours to some of the most famous sites and reefs in the BVI such as The Indians and Norman Island's The Caves - see below. The BVI also has one of the most famous dives in the world called The Wreck of the Rhone. She's in two parts - one at 80' and the other at 40' - perfect for a 2 tank dive (Snorkelers have fun floating over the wreck too).
