One of the most famous museums in the world, the Uffizi Gallery boasts exceptional collections of paintings and ancient sculptures. Among the paintings dating back to the 14th century and Renaissance period, plenty of masterpieces such as by Giotto, Simone Martini, Piero della Francesca, Beato Angelico, Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Mantegna, Correggio, Leonardo, Raffaello, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, as well as by pre-eminent German, Dutch and Flemish painters. The invaluable collection of statues and busts adorning the corridors was gathered by the Medici family and is made up of Roman copies after lost Greek originals. Originally built to host the administrative offices of the Medici's government, today the Gallery is located on the last floor of the imposing building constructed between 1560 and 1580 after a design by Giorgio Vasari.

Strazzanti was created by the 3 Strazzanti sisters with our youngest sister & professional Chef Emilia leading the experiences directly in Sicily. We continue the story and memories of our grandparents who taught us everything about our Sicilian and Neapolitan heritage. Growing up we understood our Italian heritage through them as people, their stories and by sharing, eating and cooking the dishes that they grew up with from their homeland and using the ingredients that our relatives would send to us in England from Sicily & Naples in small parcels. When our grandparents left us, it reinforced as a family that what they taught and shared with us is a huge part of our cultural identity, and we could not risk that heritage disappearing. Together as a family and working with other Sicilian families our passion is to give back to the land and work with like-minded young entrepreneurs, landowners and farmers in Sicily to keep this heritage and Sicilian traditions, which we all lovingly grew up with, alive.
