We are so excited to share that our main villa, where you will find the fireplace lobby/front desk, both restaurants, and 12,000 s.f. of meeting space, has received a multi-million-dollar transformation. Keeping the integrity of our historical, iconic Spanish Revival architecture, we paired a neutral and earthy color pallet with bold tile and textures, creating a casual-luxe aesthetic that is both comfortable and classic with attention to pattern and detail. Now more than ever, our offering of newly transformed indoor meeting space coupled with expansive, unconventional outdoor meeting space ensures a healthy and safe event space for you and your attendees. As with our design, we pair the same bold attention to the details of your event. Your attendees will enjoy staying in one of our 11 two-story villas, no elevators needed. Each villa features 12-16 guest rooms or suites, first floor rooms enjoy a patio or balcony, many with forest views. Whether you choose from our creative and effective teambuilding experiences, or let individuals explore our 3+ mile redwood hiking trails, enjoy bocce and other lawn games, our 300 acre mountain top retreat overlooking the Monterey Bay is sure to provide the perfect backdrop for your next meeting.

Crossing over Highway 1; at first stop light turn left onto Paul Sweet Road. Continue north 1/4 mile to Chaminade Lane. FROM SAN JOSE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Take Highway 880 (17) south to Santa Cruz. Exit Highway 1 south to Watsonville/Monterey. Continue on Highway 1 south Exit on Soquel Avenue (first exit after Morrissey Blvd.). Turn right at stop light. Turn right at next light onto Soquel Drive. Crossing over Highway 1; at first stop light turn left onto Paul Sweet Road. Continue north 1/4 mile to Chaminade Lane. FROM MONTEREY AIRPORT Take Highway 1 north to Santa Cruz. Exit Soquel Drive (first exit after 41st Avenue). This park features 15 miles of hiking and riding trails through a forest that looks much the same as it did 200 years ago. Zayante Indians once lived in the area, where they found shelter, water and game. Henry Cowell Redwoods is home to a centuries old Redwood Grove that features a self-guided nature path. It also boasts other old-growth woods such as Douglas fir, mandrone, oak and a stunning stand of Ponderosa pines. The park has a picnic area above the San Lorenzo River. Anglers fish for steelhead and salmon during the winter. The park has a nature center and bookstore. The main park area contains the large, old-growth redwoods, while the northern area (Fall Creek) has about 20 miles of hiking trails. The tallest tree in the park is about 285 feet tall, and about 16 feet wide. The oldest trees in the park are about 1400 to 1800 years old.

Big Basin Redwoods State Park is California's oldest State Park, established in 1902. Home to the largest continuous stand of ancient coast redwoods south of San Francisco, the park consists of over 18,000 acres of old growth and recovering redwood forest, with mixed conifer, oaks, chaparral, and riparian habitats. Elevations in the park vary from sea level to over 2,000 feet. The climate ranges from foggy and damp near the ocean to sunny, warm ridge tops. The park features family and group camping, tent cabins, backpacking camps, hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails. The park is open year round and reservations are encouraged during the summer. The park has a surprising number of waterfalls and a wide variety of environments from lush canyon bottoms to sparse chaparral-covered slopes. Many animals such as deer, raccoon, coyote, fox, an occasional bobcat, mountain lion, and many bird species--including California quail, egret, heron, hawk, owl, woodpecker, and the endangered marbled murrelet--call Big Basin home. And of course there are always plenty of banana slugs!

Joycoast founder Reese O’Toole was simply "not a watch guy." Every watch he tried caused discomfort, and added unnecessary extra weight. It wasn't until 2017 when Reese realized one of the oldest materials (wood) could be combined with modern technology to create a unique, lightweight, and amazingly comfortable piece of art to wear on your wrist. He got to work designing his first collection of wooden watches for men. This is when Joycoast was born. Not long after, he discovered other products he could create from wood, such as wooden sunglasses. To this day Reese only wears wooden accessories and has been raising awareness for wood as a sustainable alternative to traditional steel watches and harmful plastic sunglasses. Joycoast has advanced a lot over the years and now offers engraved wooden watches, which make extra special gifts.
