Sokos Hotel Vaakuna is a classy, fresh and cozy hotel in the very centre of Vaasa. Modern rooms and the excellent meeting facilities offer discerning travelers and groups flexible services. All rooms have individual room cooling system. Lobby Bar at street level is the ultimate meeting point, where you can have a nice drink at the end of the day. Tapas restaurant Pincho offers excellent settings for social gatherings and Spanish tastes. Restaurant Amarillo is a laid-back restaurant serving southwestern cuisine, and Sky, the best night club in town, offers an exciting party and a great view over the surrounding townscape.

The only way to find out about it was via word of mouth. No address was given, the only clue being a sign placed in the window, “Cocktails Here”. A lot of people thought it was pretty cool, even before The New York Times wrote about it. But that was all pre-pandemic, and this is a new era. Yes, Plastic straws and stirrers replaced with eco-friendly alternatives offered on request. Branded plastic pens are replaced with recyclable pens. Use of refillable soaps and shampoos where possible. Pins in hotel rooms to help sort plastic waste.
