Ruby Sofie began life as the Sofiensäle, a grand 19th-century bathhouse. Thanks to her outstanding acoustics though, singing in the shower quickly turned to concerts and gala balls, with everyone from Johann Strauss to the Kinks gracing her stage. When it comes to design, we’ve taken cues from our leading lady’s past life, mixing vintage furnishings with statement spotlights and a head-turning piano. But while playbills, vinyl sleeves and instruments hint at past glories, the bar menu’s thoroughly modern. From the healthy breakfast and barista coffee to eclectic cocktails and tasty snacks, there’s something for everyone, 24/7. Upstairs, each room reflects our Lean Luxury style, with a big, comfy bed, a rainfall shower and soft, fluffy towels. A few modern touches bring Sofie firmly into the 21st century, like a Marshall amp, to once again fill the air with music.
