Allanvale Homestead and Shearers' Quarters are located on a magnificent working sheep property close to the Great Western wineries and within a half-hour scenic drive to the Grampians. The grand and historic homestead provides elegant and stylish accommodation and is ideal for unforgettable weddings. The Shearers' Quarters, located 100 meters from the homestead, offers rustic accommodation perfect for big groups and special occasions. The heritage Shearers' Quarters were built early last century and were used to accommodate and feed shearers up until the late 1980s. Annie converted the Quarters into rustic accommodation for groups in 1991. While the homestead and Shearers' Quarters offer the perfect base for exploring the Grampians and Great Western's famous wineries, many guests prefer to spend their time relaxing at Allanvale. Allanvale Homestead offers elegant and stylish accommodation, perfect for one or two couples travelling together. The exclusive self-contained guest wing accommodates up to eight people with four beautifully restored bedrooms, a private sitting room (all with open fires) and a kitchen. The heritage Shearers' Quarters are ideal for larger groups. Guests can also use the large gas barbeque in the leafy courtyard outside the guest kitchen. The Shearers' Quarters is popular for getaways of all kinds. Accommodating large groups, it is ideal for gatherings of families, friends and special interest groups. The Victorian weatherboard building has long verandas with five bedrooms on either side, a farm kitchen with an original wood stove, and a large communal area with a big open fire, comfy couches and two large tables that seat twenty. The Shearers' Quarters can be used in conjunction with Allanvale Homestead for stunning weddings and special dinners. Catered dinners can be held at Allanvale Homestead or the Shearers' Quarters. Allanvale Homestead offers a superb setting for weddings, dinners and social events. The grand and historic ballroom, featuring beautifully carved wood paneling and an orchestral loft above, can seat up to 80 guests and the extensive gardens offer the ideal setting for outside functions. For weddings and functions accommodating over 80 guests, a marquee can be set up on the homestead lawn or tennis court. Alternatively, the homestead verandas can be sealed off with giant transparent flaps and used in conjunction with the opulent ballroom to create an indoor-outdoor 1920s restaurant-like feel. The ballroom windows are opened so guests sitting at the veranda tables are a part of the ballroom scene.
