Welcome to Thorpe Underwood Estate, ideally situated just 10 miles from the historic city of York and equally close to the beautiful spa town of Harrogate. Thorpe Underwood Estate expands over 100 acres of beautifully maintained, tranquil grounds and is home to the nationally renowned Queen Ethelburga’s College and Chapter House Preparatory School. Within the vast expanse of the recently opened Genesis Centre, guests can benefit from a very large indoor sports facility, brand new 25m pool and associated facilities, large numbers of superbly equipped classrooms, thoughtfully designed art rooms and a full range of meeting spaces, all fitted to the highest standards. Other facilities on site include the large luxurious meeting spaces to found in The Phoenix Centre, the school’s music and drama facility, found at the heart of the estate, and the breathtaking Undercroft facility, which provides lounge areas for relaxation, games tables and a 32 station internet cafe, as well as housing our vast 500 seat dining hall.
